Mardi Gras begins on February 16, 2010 – “Fat Tuesday”. Mardi Gras is the last day of the ‘period of carnival’. This is between January 6th and Ash Wednesday and marks the arrival of Lent. Mardi Gras is most widely known for crazy parties, colorful parades, beads, king cakes and other wild party celebrations. Many locations host Mardi Gras celebrations, most widely known in New Orleans, Quebec, Rio de Janeiro an Sinaloa. It is a short but lively celebration.
When hosting your February event, why not have a Mardi Gras themed party for all guests to enjoy? Each guest can bring a favorite cajun themed dish to share and you can pass out beads for rewards after party games or daring acts. Serve a king’s cake instead of a traditional birthday cake and note that the person who finds the baby Jesus will have luck with money for the entire next year.
Our Mardi Gras invitations are full of purple, green, yellow and blue hues and feature beads, masks, streamers, confetti, cocktails, jazz players and feathers. Ask your guests to ‘come as they aren’t’ in a funky costume or wearing a mask. Our invitations range from fun and casual to full on formal Mardi Gras themed events.
