We had a customer come in for an appointment the other day who was planning a southern holiday ball at a beautiful local location. It made me wish I had something to get dressed up for this holiday season. I mean honestly, when was the last time you were invited to a ball or got dressed up in a gown? If your answer is like mine, the words Prom or Greek Semi-Formal come to mind…which was just way too long ago! One of the newest trends we’re seeing in couples in their late 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and 50’s are black tie formal holiday events to celebrate holiday birthdays, corporate events, charity benefits or simply a holiday celebration.
Formal holiday party invitations are a great way to get guests excited for your event. The girls can spend the day before the party getting glammed up at the spa or hair salon so that they look perfect for their event, (any excuse to get your hair or makeup done is typically approved). Female guests will also gush over shopping for a formal gown be it at a boutique, department store or at a costume store which sells Victorian or ‘time period’ attire. Men can come dressed in a suit and tie, tuxedo or any other formal wear. To set the tone for your event, make sure your invitations match the theme of your formal party. You don’t want to send an invitation with cartoon reindeer and expect your guests to arrive in black tie formal attire. Some of our favorite formal holiday party invitations this year feature formal place settings, swanky black silhouettes, ornate chandeliers or elegant floral designs and patterns. Below are just a few of our most popular brand new holiday party designs:
Entice your guests for your holiday party by offering fun things like a photo booth or cameras at each table to capture everyone’s formal wear, carriage rides, garden tours decorated with holiday lights and fabulous spirits and fare. Make it a party that everyone talks about for years to come or make it an annual event with each year’s party being a new or different time period theme.
