The holidays are such a magical time of year…a time filled with love, togetherness, peace and happiness. Most of us never really think about having a holiday or Christmas themed wedding, however with the loving sentiment a wedding brings, a holiday wedding can be quite formal and appropriate.

When planning a holiday wedding, you certainly don’t need to include those aspects of Christmas we all know all-too-well, (i.e. Santa faces, reindeer, candy canes, etc.). A holiday wedding actually does not need to include holiday icons at all. You can simply use this festive time of year to create a warm color palette of holiday colors and give your guests a warm feel during this wintry occasion. In the montage below, we start the holiday wedding theme with the Chandelier Vellum Noir Invitation by Noteworthy Collections. This formal layered invitation features a black floral patterned bottom card which is adorned with a white silhouette of an ornate chandelier. A vellum overlay is attached to the top of the bottom layered card with a red velvet ribbon to which your text is printed.

The above elegant invitation, shown in the middle of the montage, is the perfect choice for your holiday wedding invitation as it lends itself to allow you to incorporate the colors and formal theme into your wedding. As seen in the coordinating photos shown, the red velvet in the ribbon can be incorporated into your wedding cake, wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses. You can even follow the white and red theme into your reception decor, perhaps offering a holiday item as a wedding favor or using holiday candles and bulb ornaments as a place card or centerpiece. Choosing a red wedding dress as shown in this montage would be a bold choice, but certainly appropriate and quite striking.

All in all, a winter or holiday wedding is certainly not a traditional wedding theme, however the uniqueness of the theme is part of what makes it special. The holidays are such a touching time of year where love and happiness are celebrated…why not incorporate that into your next formal event or winter wedding theme?!
