If you’re anything like me, you’re thinking…three weeks from now I will have a paid day off of work! Let’s face it, we all work really hard to support our family and this wonderful country that we live in…we deserve a break, at least once a year, right?! Labor day is celebrated on the first day of September every year, and it was first recognized on September 5, 1882. The holiday was created by the Central Labor Union after workers were killed by military and U.S. Marshalls who were trying to stop strikers during the Pullman strike. The holiday has a strong economic significance and truly celebrates those who create prosperity, strength and positivity for the US and our economy.
How will you celebrate your social and economic achievements during this fun American holiday? I know I’ll be headed to the beach to celebrate and catch some rays. Some of the most popular Labor Day traditions are cookouts, a weekend trip camping or to the shore, family get-togethers, pool parties, picnics or simply some nice relaxation with your family and friends. Many companies also host Labor Day parties to celebrate their workers and mix a little business with pleasure – and invite the whole family.
Thinking about hosting a Labor Day soiree? There’s still time if you need to order party invitations for your September 5th event. Labor Day invitations are typically sent out about 2-3 weeks before your event – so you’re just in time. So whether you’re planning a pig pick’n, an end-of-summer pool party bash, a barbecue or a picnic at the local state park, we have the perfect invitations to set the scene for your relaxing, family-relationship-building event. Rush orders are still available for those who want to receive their orders this week, as well as super rush orders in case you want your invitations now, (or yesterday…it happens).
A personal favorite of mine, Labor Day in my family always meant a family BBQ after a day of playing sports outside or swimming. Below, I’ve selected some of our most popular Labor Day Party Invitations…all which are available with those super rush orders for last-minute party ideas…
So remember to take some time out of your busy social and work schedule this year and spend time with those who mean the most to you – the ones you work hard for every day to love and support. Labor Day is such a great holiday to just sit back, relax and enjoy!
