“Home is a place where you grow up wanting to leave, and grow old wanting to get back to…” -John Ed Pearce

Moving to a new home is such an exciting time for your family – it’s a fresh start, a new reason to spend money on decorating and a chance to start anew.  It’s a great reason to explore your new area and make new friends with your new neighbors.  Embrace your new friends and say goodbye to old friends with a housewarming party after all of your boxes have been unpacked!

Housewarming parties are a great reason to finish unpacking all of those boxes you’ve been pushing aside and a way to show all of your friends your new pad!  Make it an open house where your guests can come and go as they please and take a house tour!  Offer a plethora of wines and hors d’oeuvres and make a full night of it with your new friends and old friends.

Set the scene for your party with a housewarming party invitation from our abundant collection…you can even double up your housewarming party invitation as a moving announcement, too.  Our housewarming invites feature a variety of styles featuring blueprint designs, door entrance-ways, room scenes, living room scenes and antique house keys.  We even have regional housewarming invitations which is great if you’re moving to a new state or area of the country featuring popular states like Georgia, Texas, California and more.

Attending a housewarming party and not sure what to wear, bring or expect?  If you’re attending a housewarming party, consider what time of day the event is held.  If it’s during the day casual wear is likely appropriate unless the party is at night and has more of a cocktail party theme.  Think dressy casual with a sundress or slacks and polo if it’s warm, and jeans and a cute top if it’s on the colder side.  A gift is not necessary for a housewarming party, however it is a very nice gesture.  A bottle of wine is one of my go-to gifts for a housewarming, or a decorative candle to help the couple decorate their new home…think gifts from Crate & Barrel or Pier One and you can’t go wrong.  You can also think about party entertaining gifts or gift cards to places like Lowes or Walmart to help the couple fill their home.
