Floral Invitations

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Soft. Subtle. Sweet. Inspiring. Set an appropriate tone for your next event with an invitation from our Floral Themed Party Invitations collection. Floral invitations portray an essence of elegance, importance and happiness to your event. Choose from invitations with sunflowers, hydrangeas, daisies, roses, posies, vines, lilies and hibiscus depending on the theme of your event. In our floral collection you will see outdoor floral scenes, floral and vining borders, dainty floral accents, pocket cards and floral screens.

Floral invitations are great for formal events, bridal showers, luncheons, garden parties, adult birthday party invitations, corporate events or tropical parties. You can incorporate the flowers from your invitation into your event by decorating tables and surrounding areas with the chosen flower(s) and use the colors from the flowers into your party decorations.

Remember that your invitation is the first indication of the event to be held. A floral invitation will set the bar high for your event and let your guest know the importance of your party. Browse the above floral invitations and more at InvitationBox!

Around-the-Clock Bridal Shower Invitations

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Tick-Tock…Shower the bride around the clock! At most bridal showers, it is unavoidable that the bride and groom will receive repeat gifts. Help the happy couple receive a plethora of unique gifts by hosting an around-the-clock shower in their honor. At an around-the-clock shower each guest is assigned a time of day to which they will purchase a coordinating gift. You can have multiple guests do the same time for a larger category like dinnertime, etc. Not sure what to get for which hour? Here are some great suggestions:

8 AM – toaster, potholders, tea set, coffee maker
9 AM – towels, bath accessories, bubble bath
10 AM – workout clothes, weights
12 PM – bbq set, dinnerware, games
7 PM – cocktail set, wine, silverware, dinnerware
10 PM – lingerie, bath oils, books

You can also change up your around-the-clock shower by assigning each guest a category to purchase a gift for. This will allow guests a little bit wider of a range of gifts and also yield great suggestions for those not familiar with an around the clock shower. For example:

Bath Time
Party Time
Quiet Time
Garden Time
Fix-It Time
BBQ Time
Holiday Time
Dessert Time
Meal Time
Beach Time
Cocktail Time
Game Time

At InvitationBox.com we have a great selection of around-the-clock shower invitations. Some give suggestions for purchases for the bride and others feature clock themes. Take a look at some of our most popular invitations below…

The great thing about around-the-clock showers is that you can incorporate the theme into your entire bridal shower event. Give small kitchen timers as favors for your guests. Decorate each table with a morning, lunch, party or dinner theme. Create a montage of pictures of the bride from birth to current time to show how she has changed over the years before and after meeting her love.

Help the bride count down the days before her big day and be a part of assisting her in being ready for the next step in her life with an around-the-clock shower in her honor.

Tea Party Invitations

Sugar or honey with your tea? Tea parties are becoming very popular nowadays whether you’re 5, 21 or 95! Spend an afternoon with the girls relaxing the day away and enjoying each other’s company with high tea, fabulous finger foods and great conversation. Plan your next tea party for a bridal shower tea, baby shower tea, birthday party tea, women’s garden get-together tea or even a tea party for your little one!

When choosing your tea party invitation, choose one that coincides with your personality and the formality of the party. We have some great tea party invitations for kids including bright colorful die-cut tea pots and jeweled invitations. For adults we have delicate watercolor tea designs, teacup towers and borders, soft hues and modern tea invitations. The type of tea party invitation you choose will indicate to your guests the formality of the event.

When you host a tea party you can be as casual as having a nice get-together at your home or as lavish as inviting guests to a high tea or flowering tea service at a local spa or hotel. If you are having a tea party outside of the home, remember that many resorts offer this tea service accompanied with finger foods, deserts, a serene setting and an array of musical accompaniments. You can ask each guest to contribute to the cost of the event or ask for special group pricing for your event. If having a party at your home, you may want to serve your tea outside on a deck or in your garden. Pick up small finger foods from your local bakery and find great tea recipes online. Below I have listed a scone recipe from Alton Brown of the Food Network that may be of interest to our Susie-home-maker types:

Scones:

• 2 cups flower
• 4 teaspoons baking powder
• 3/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/3 cup sugar
• 4 tablespoons butter
• 2 tablespoons shortening
• 3/4 cup cream
• 1 egg
• Handful dried currants or dried cranberries

Directions

Heat oven to 375 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Mix well. Cut in butter and shortening. In a separate bowl, combine cream with beaten egg then add to dry ingredients. Stir in fruit. Turn dough out onto a floured surface. Roll dough out and cut into biscuit size rounds. Bake for 15 minutes or until brown.

So next time you need an excuse to get together with the girls, away from the kids, in a quiet an peaceful setting, consider hosting a tea with your closest of friends!

Spa Party Invitations

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

Work stress wearing you down? Are you pregnant and just need a little time to relax? Kids driving you crazy? Need to pamper yourself and your bridal party before the big day?

Spa themed parties are all the rage this summer…what better way to spend time with the girls AND get some much needed R & R. The most popular treatments for you and your pals are manicures, pedicures and massages. Most spas have mini or express versions of the regular spa treatments which are much more cost effective and are done in about twenty to thirty minutes. Costs can range from $70-$150 per guest and sometimes include a gift for the guest. Be sure to ask whether gratuities are included.

On a budget? No need to fear – stop by your local Wal-Mart or department store and pick up the mani/pedi essentials and have a home spa party! Set the scene with some relaxing music, scented candles, warm towels and herbal teas for your guests. Set up mini stations around the room, put out some finger foods and have a goodie-bag for each guest to take with them when they leave. This will be much more cost effective and still a ton of fun!

Take a look at some of the great Spa party invitations we have available at InvitationBox.com this summer…you’re guests will be ready to relax in no time!
