A little color inspiration can go a long way! One of the most popular color combinations for weddings this bridal season has been a pale pink combined with a deep charcoal grey. Pairing the two almost-neutral colors creates a strikingly elegant color compilation that is very easy to work with when planning your big day.
The invitation to our left is from the brand new Checkerboard BRIDES Collection, which is created by one of America’s favorite bridal magazines, BRIDES Magazine! The design has been captured from the Victoria Invitation Collection. The Victoria invitation features a grey floral embossed outer jacket which is wrapped in a silky pale pink ribbon. Open the invitation like a book to reveal the pale Bahama pink inner card which features your wedding invitation details inside two swirling ornate frames. Print your wording in charcoal ink to tie in the colors of the invitation and choose two fonts to bring focus to the bride and groom’s names. We absolutely love this classically understated invitation, which even features a slight contemporary flare with it’s large ribbon and embossed jacket pairing.
Remember that your wedding invitation is the first indication of the event that will shape the rest of your life. Your invitation gives a slight preview to guests to what they should expect at your wedding, as well as the formality of your big day. To create consistency, use your wedding colors or a design detail in your wedding invitation as well as your reception decor. We created a wedding montage below for you, which features a grey and pink themed wedding with slight damask detail, similar to the Victoria pocket. You’ll see the damask floral detail from the pocket carried into the wedding cake, as well as the pink damask wedding favor boxes and the gorgeous bride’s couture wedding gown which features a white linen with a pink damask overlay of detail. A pink tie was added to the groomsmen’s tuxedo to coordinate with the bridesmaids grey bridesmaids dresses, which feature a pink sash in the center which matches the pale pink silk ribbon from the invitation. The wedding ceremony was decorated with traditional pink and black linens, with pink rose petal details which matched the brides bouquet.
It can be amazing how one small detail of your wedding, like a wedding invitation, can influence the theme for your entire wedding day! A pink and grey damask patterned invitation can create one gorgeous reception, and reflect upon an even happier bride and groom. The smallest or simplest of things in life can cause a little inspiration…run with it!
